Hope all are well, as the Covid 19 pandemic continues the importance of protective measures remains. Vaccinations are progressing; recently positive covid cases have been wide spread in western mass and the Berkshires.  

Monday, April 19th, all people 16 years of age and older, who live, work, or study in Massachusetts will be eligible to receive a COVID- 19 vaccinations. • Individuals who are 16 or 17 years old should present a consent form completed by a parent/guardian/legally authorized representative— a sample form can be found here:

The best way to make an appointment is to use the direct link on www.getvaccinatedberkshires.org.  Clinic appointment opening times will always be posted on the website at least 6-12 hours in advance.

Homebound Vaccination Program

Baker Administration has launched a homebound vaccination program to provide in-home vaccinations to homebound individuals who cannot leave their home, even with supports, to get to a COVID-19 vaccine appointment.

In-home vaccinations will be available to homebound individuals who:

  • Have considerable difficulty and/or require significant support to leave the home for medical appointments
  • Require an ambulance or two-person assistance to leave the home
  • Are not able to leave home for medical appointments under normal circumstances.

Savoy homebound residents can contact the Adam COA at 1- 413- 743- 8333 for assistance.

State wide homebound individuals and their loved ones can call 1-833-983-0485 to schedule an appointment and determine if they meet eligibility for in-home vaccination. The registration phone line is open Monday through Friday from 9 AM to 5 PM and has representatives who speak English and Spanish, as well as translation services available in 100+ languages.

Continued until notice is otherwise given, the Town of Savoy adopted the following actions and closures to help slow the spread of the COVID-19 virus:

Town Office, 720 Main Road
Closed to the general public:
 Staff will work regularly scheduled hours. Individuals who have business to conduct with town staff should contact staff to make appointments, essential business only. Emergency meetings: held as necessary following CDC guidelines for face masks and distancing. See contact info below.

Transfer Station and Compactor, 204 Chapel Road
Open during regularly scheduled hours: The public is requested to take precautions and avoid close contact with each other and with the attendants. Swap Shop is closed.

Highway Garage, 262 Main Road
Closed to the general public: Staff working regularly scheduled hours. Contact the department with any questions. 413- 743- 1286

Savoy Fire Department, 17 Center Road

Savoy Elementary School,  Chapel Road
 School is open for staff and students and Closed to the general public: Contact the NBSU office 413- 664- 9292 with any questions.

Savoy Police Department, Main Road
Office hours are generally Tuesday evenings from 4:00pm to 7:00pm. Please call the station at 413-743-0364 or cell 413-770-3330 to make an appointment, due to Covid 19.  (Call 911 for emergencies)

  • If emergency medical attention is needed please dial 911 for ambulance service, the Savoy Fire Department will be assisting Adams Ambulance.
  • Residents can contact the toll-free hotline (Including testing) set up by Berkshire Medical Center to help with questions/concerns. The number is (855) BMC-LINK and is available from 7 am – 7 pm.

Savoy has secured public nursing services assistance from Berkshire Public Health Alliance to provide public health nursing services related to residents who have tested positive for COVID-19. Nursing services will contact these residents directly for help and guidance.

The Select Board and Board of Health will be evaluating regularly and will work to keep residents informed as additional measures are taken. The most current information will be available here on the town website, at townofsavoy.com and posted outside town hall.
